Dad's Garage moves to 7 Stages

ATLANTA -- Dad's Garage Theatre, arguably Atlanta's most popular improv troupe, is moving from its regular venue on Elizabeth Street to 7 Stages in Little Five Points.

"It's official. At the ripe ol' age of 18, Mom and Dad are kicking us out of the house. Dad's Garage Theatre has received notice that our building, as well as the entire property at 280 Elizabeth Street, is changing ownership and will be redeveloped in the coming months," Dad's Garage wrote in a statement.

7 Stages has housed a number of creative initiatives over the years, including Synchronicity Theatre, Push Push Theatre and Sideways Dance Company.

"We have a tremendous amount of respect for Dad's Garage and we are happy to help them out in any way we can," 7 Stages managing director Mack Hendrick said.

Dad's Garage will move to 7 Stages in August. The change is not expected to be permanent.
