ATLANTA – There are tons of fun events going on this weekend, in your area. We’ve listed a few of them for you to check out with your family and friends.

Pop singer, Gavin DeGraw will be performing at Atlantic Station’s “Winter Wonder Jam series. Atlantic Station will host a free concert series, which will conclude on December 23. The series has featured popular acts like: Sister Hazel and Citizen Cope, over the past couple of weeks. Attendees can text JAM to 57682 the week of each show to find out who plays next. The concert will be held at Atlantic Station’s Central Park.

The Atlanta Hawks will be holding an Open Scrimmage on Friday night from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Highlight Factory.  According to their website, “the players and coaches will be joined by the Hawks Cheerleaders, Harry the Hawk, SkyHawk, Bob Rathbun and Steve Holman. Players will be signing autographs following the game.

True Colors Theatre in Southwest Atlanta is featuring a play called The Nativity: A Gospel Celebration”. The production is a gospel version of the Christmas story written, directed and choreographed by Patdro Harris. Tickets are available through Ticket Alternative.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will be hosting their “A Very Merry Holiday Pops Concert” featuring Montego Glover and Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski and the Lassiter and Walton High School Choruses. The concert will be held on December 16 at 2:00 p.m. and on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at the Atlanta Symphony Hall.

The High Museum of Art will be hosting their Holiday Friday Jazz beginning at 5:00 p.m. Saxaphonist Will Scruggs will perform various holiday tunes; Scruggs, an Atlanta native, is only 28 years old and has already shared the stage with Dave Brubeck and toured and recorded with Natalie Cole. The concert is free to museum members and up to $18 for others.

Gather your friends and join the folks at Diesel Filling Station for the Zombie Santa Walk on Saturday, December 17. Admission to this event is free for all who come dressed as a “Zombie Santa or one of his undead helpers”. And in the midst of your good time don’t forget to bring a canned good for the Atlanta Community Food Bank. The party starts around 8:00 p.m.

Atkins Park Smyrna is hosting a Tacky Sweater Party on Friday. The party will feature balloon drop, drink special, a Santa appearance and house cash prizes. So get your most Tacky Sweater out of the closet and bring yourself to the party. Atkins Park is located at 2840 Atlanta Road in Vinings.

The City of Canton is hosting a Memorial Event for Jorelys Rivera, the seven-year-old girl found dead after going missing, a couple of weeks ago. The event is being held in conjunction with the City of Canton. The show will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will feature performances by Charlie Boy Gang, Guacamole Gang, Henny Whyte, Yungsta Da Wiz, Rollie, Rowdy B, Jacques Johnson and A. Lo. The concert will be hosted by Mami Chula. The concert will be held at Canton Heritage Park at 250 Riverstone Parkway in Canton. Admission is free.

Many have been wondering why a big white tent has been erected just off the highway near Spring Street and Eight Street. It’s the sequel to Cavalia, called “Odysseo” and it is being held in that tent, in the middle of Midtown. Tickets to the event range from $69 to $134 and the event offers discounts for children and senior citizens. Odyssso is going to be around until January, although, there’s a good chance it’ll be extended. Check it out online.

The Georgia Boys Choir will host their annual Holiday Concert on Friday and Saturday nights at the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta. Both concerts will begin at 7:00 p.m.
